BP pipelines along living local population promotion project entered a new phase

After 12 years of success "Community Development Initiative" had launched its new 5th phase. The program is initiated and funded by BP and its co-venturers in Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and, South Caucasian Pipeline (SCP) companies.

The project’s 5th phase goals are to strengthen previous 4 phases’ results and continue promotion of the local population living in the target villages of East and West part of the BTC and SCP pipelines. 

The project’s 5th phase implementing partners are CTC in the Eastern part, in Kvemo Kartli region and RDA in the Western part, in Samtskhe-Javakheti region of the pipelines.

From June 2015, Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC) had successfully launched 62 communities development support of  Gardabani, Marneuli, Tetritskaro and Tsalka municipalities and 18th and 19th districts of city Rustavi along East part of pipelines route.

Project objectives:

•       Organizational and institutional development training for CBO’s;

•       24 Infrastructure rehabilitation projects;

•       120 Small business promotion;

•       32 Demonstration farm creation;

•       3 Agricultural cooperatives promotion;

•       Competence development for 60 youth in Rustavi 18th - 19th districts.

Additional information about CDI project

CDI had been initiated in Georgia from 2003 in communities of Kvemo Kartli  and Samtskhe-Javakheti  region  along SCP and BTC Pipeline route. Since June 2013, due to the South Caucasus Pipeline Extension project (SCPX) "Community Development Initiative" had been launched in 18 new communities of Tsalka, Gardabani and Adigeni municipalities. Since May 2010, CTC had been involved in CDI project and has successfully carried out planned activities.
