Grant Competition for Beginning and Existing Entrepreneurs

The competition is carried out within the Small Business Development Project 3 (SBDP3) which is initiated and funded by BP and its partners in Georgian Pipeline Company.

Results of the first grant competition of Small Business Development Project 3

Small Business Development Project 3 is initiated and financed by the BP and its partners in Georgia Pipeline Company. The objective of the project is deepening positive relations between BP and communities along the WREP by promoting of establishment and development of microbusinesses. The third phase of the project started in the end of July 2018; it foresees funding of the businesses who will win the grant competitions, monitoring, advice, various training sessions, meetings with the local government representatives etc.

Results of the third grant competition of Small Business Development Project 2

The third grant contest announced within the frames of the Small Business Development Project 2 came to end. The project is initiated and financed by the BP and its partners in Georgia Pipeline Company. The objective of the project is deepening positive relations between BP and communities along the WREP route by investing in communities that demonstrate commitment to provide positive contribution for sustainable improvement in communities and to maintain and enhance sustainability of social-economic development.

Professional training for the beginning beekeepers

The Small Business Development Project 2 envisages capacity building of the supported micro-entrepreneurs through providing diverse training sessions. Within the frames of this component the vocational courses were held for the beginner beekeepers in Patara Jikhaishi village of Khoni municipality on 2 and 3 June this year. The training courses were delivered by the Chairman of Georgian Beekeepers Association Mr. Temuri Gogoberidze, 15 people participated in total.

Review of the 2015 achievements of the “Small Business Development Project 2”

The grant competition for startup entrepreneurs was announced in early August 2015. Within the frames of the competition door-to-door visits were carried out and community meetings were held with the population concerned. At the beginning of September 534 applications were submitted in total from 60 target villages.

The applications were considered by the selection committee with participation of the invited agricultural expert. As a consequence 167 people were selected for participation in the business planning training.
